Client Engagement Director

RAIN Group, an award-winning global provider of innovative sales training and performance improvement services, is seeking a Client Engagement Director (CED) to add to our expanding team.

This is remote role based in the US.

You have a client-centric attitude which enables you to provide innovative solutions for organizational transformation and growth.

It might not be part of your official job description, but you naturally command a room, have a knack for training and coaching others, and can easily inspire and motivate a group. You navigate a room of C-level executives as adeptly as you do the professionals who use your tools day-to-day. You're a trusted advisor to your clients and those who work on your teams.

You've lived success and failure at a high level, and you've seen enough to trust that your professional experience will inform how you design and implement dynamic, successful, and smart solutions for those you represent.


You'll work as a member of the Client Results Team and be responsible for the success of RAIN Group’s largest client accounts. The CED oversees a team of Lead Consultants, Facilitators, and Client Operations members daily to manage the end-to-end journey to results attainment across RAIN Group clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Relentlessly pursuing achievement of results for large, complex global client engagements
  • Driving all components of client engagements to delivering on time and on track
  • Leading all engagement team members as needed for schedule, activity, and milestone achievement
  • Ensuring alignment with client executives on qualitative and quantitative success metrics throughout each engagement
  • Leading change management planning, communications development, and execution for assigned engagements
  • Identifying and proactively mitigating risks to project success; solutioning internal and/or client-facing processes to resolve
  • Managing client expectations for deliverables, schedule, and service level agreements (SLAs); leading discussions if change orders for additional scope are needed
  • Setting up the sales team to penetrate, expand and protect client accounts, including driving new business, renewals, and expansion of existing business
  • Leading facilitation workshops, coaching sessions, and executive presentations as needed

You Have
  • A track record of establishing and strengthening relationships with client executives as the primary relationship leader
  • Proven success in a business or sales consultant role
  • An ability to self-motivate and think outside the box to identify value for clients; you're a demonstrated "thinker"
  • A strong aptitude for business, and experience in client management and account development activities that deliver value
  • Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven understanding of grammar, editing, and analytical interpretation
  • Excellent people skills, project management, and detail orientation in order to deep dive into processes as-and-when required
  • A passion for leadership and the capability to lead a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple clients and projects
  • High attention to detail and process
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • Comfort working with and learning new technologies

Position Requirements
  • Undergraduate/bachelor's degree and minimum 10-15 years of professional experience that demonstrates your mastery in sales enablement/account management in an energetic, results-focused business environment
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects with many moving parts and tight deadlines
  • Significant facilitation/training experience; confident in front of an audience with structured content
  • Commercial acumen correlated with relative sales experience
